Easy Play Dough Recipe

Play dough is always a fun playtime activity. We have very found memories of our two oldest making figure after figure out of play dough when they were younger a lot of them what looked like cats and hearts. The baby is getting older and it’s time for us to start practicing making homemade made play dough. Now I like store bought play dough just as much as the next parents does but there something about whipping together a batch of play dough with the kids on a cold rainy or snowy evening that gives me that warm and fuzzy. It’s a good way to bond with the family and having something to do other than watching shows or playing on the internet when it’s to cold to go outside.

  • 2 Cups All-purpose Flour
  • 3/4 Cup Salt
  • 4 Teaspoons Cream Of Tartar
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • Gel Food Coloring Multi Pack

Instructions

Step 1. Add all of the ingredients into a large pot and mix until well combined.

Step 2. Place pot on stove and turn on burner to medium heat.

Step 3. Stir frequently to make sure the bottom doesn’t burn. Keep string until a the dough starts to form a ball.

Step 4. Move dough to parchment paper to cool to enough to where you can knead it.

Step 5. Divide into sections and color each section to desired hue/shade, and knead in color. Once finished enjoy some play time with your family.
