Irish Soda Bread Recipe

I use to make Irish soda bread very morning before cooking breakfast. It’s as easy bread to make so it doesn’t require to much attention. One can easily make it with what little mental fortitude one has while half awake before the sun and the toddlers wake up. I have very fond memories of standing in my kitchen quietly making soda bread while having a quite cup of herbal tea. My two girls who were toddlers at the time slept peacefully in their beds.

Oh yes those were good mornings watching the California sun slowly rise over the strawberries, the world was in slow motion. By time the bread was done the world was at high speed as the girls were up and running chasing each other around. While I slung hash and eggs together while chasing them around. Yep those were the days. Fast forward to now with one teen, one preteen, and a baby. I’m still making soda bread just not every morning and I’m no longer in California, I’m now in Canada. It is still a family favourite and when I do make it the delicious smell still wakes up the girls. Who proceed to chase each other around the house early in the morning, some things never change!
