Black Tomato Chunky Salsa Recipe

The store by our house got anther batch of black plum tomatoes which are prefect to add to many dishes. Black plum have a smoky savoury flavor and when you cut into them they give of a faint aroma of plum. Their smoky flavor makes them a prefect starter for any smoked or barbecued dish.

6 Black Plum Tomatoes, Diced
1 Medium Onion, Diced
1 Lime Juiced
2 Tablespoons Cilantro, Chopped
½ Teaspoon Salt
½ Teaspoon Onion Powder
¼ Teaspoon Garlic Powder
¼ Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
¼ Smoked Paprika (To enhance the smokey flavor of the black tomatoes.)


Step 1
In a medium size bowl mix together lime juice and spices and set aside to let the lime juice cook the spices.

Step 2
Dice the black tomatoes, onion, and chopped the cilantro.

Step 3
Add the tomatoes, onion, and cilantro to the bowl of lime juice and spices and mix until tomato mix is completely covered in spices. Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator 4 hours before serving for enhanced flavor.
